EXAMPLE: Breakdown of Cost

This is an example estimate of TIME and is contingent to the actual boat speed over ground regardless of wind or currents.

Departure Near VA. to destination Near South FL
Approximate Mileage following coastline 800 nautical miles (depending on stops and actual marina locations) divided by speed 7 knots (Sailboat) = 114 sailing hours.
Hours divided by 12 hours days (summertime) is = 9.5 days depending on weather.
Estimated Days: 10 to complete voyage. Additional days not included in this estimate would be and extra charge at agreed daily rate above the cost of estimate.

*This is for example only the actual sailing distance between Norfolk and FT Lauderdale is greater then 800 NM. ICW Chart says 1065 Statute miles or 925 NM
*During winter months the days are shorter we will be limited to daylight hours.

NOTE: The speed of the boat that we use to calculate sailing time comes from you, the vessel OWNER!
If you tell me the boat is faster than it really is the estimate could be off by 1 or more days resulting in more cost to you. DON'T EXAGGERATE!

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE PLEASE LOOK AT TOP OF PAGE FOR CURRENT RATES:

Crew Pay: 1 Captain @ $365 per day +
1 Deckhands @ $175 per day +
Other crew 0 @ $ 0 per day +
$365 + $175 = $540 per day
Crew for 10 days @ $540 a day = $5400
Provisions per diem @ $35 X 2 per day 12 days = $840
(2 days travel + 10 days on boat)
crew pay $5400 + provisions $840 = $6240

Crew Travel Pay: Depending on distance is either 50% or 100% of crews daily rate.
For this example would be one of each
50% rate at half of the crew agreed daily rate $540 ÷ 2 = $270.00 day.
100% rate = $540.00
2 travel days @ $270.00 + $540.00 = $810

Travel Expenses: Transportation To Vessel $550 +
Return Travel $300 = $850

Travel Expense plus Tavel Pay $850.00 + $810.00= $1660.00

Crew Pay: $6240 + Travel $1660.00 = $7900.00

Estimated total is $7900.00

* Additional days not included in this estimate would be and extra charge at agreed daily rate above the cost of estimate.

1st deposit required to get on shedule$2600.00 (Approximate 1/3 of total quoted price)
Estimate of Final Payment contingent upon travel time and expenses. = $5300.00

Boat Speeds will change this qoute:
4 knots = 17 days @ $8,452.50
